The next generation of full-size GM SUVs is coming, and the Cadillac Escalade may the most expected reveal of them all. Lincoln has exploded the scene with its excellent Navigator, and Cadillac requires something advanced in response. Our latest set of spy pictures show us what seems a camouflaged Escalade, but it’s missing out on some of the camouflage covering the grille.
2021 Cadillac Escalade Spy Shots
None of our previous Escalade spy photos have offered us this detailed of an appearance at the grille before. The grille design looks like a blown-up variation of the XT6 today. It’s not the same pattern as we see on the Sport or Premium Luxury trims of that car, but the design looks like it originates from a similar mind. There’s no mistaking it for anything other than a Cadillac, as the Yukon and Tahoe likely will not be sporting such gaudy front pieces– the jury is still out on a prospective High Country trim, though.
This specific tester appears like it was caught on GM’s showing premises, as the motorist unsuccessfully attempts to hide his face from the electronic camera. Much like previous spy shots, these feature the very same rectangle-shaped exhaust outlets and independent rear suspension down below. We still have no idea what the remainder of the SUV is going to appear like. However, as GM is wont to do nowadays, a big grille is a certainty now. The camouflage hides how far it extends from one side to the other. However, we’ll be interested to see just how much of the style language is ripped from smaller SUVs like the XT6 and XT5.
We sense Cadillac intends to give us something new and game-changing with the Escalade; we do not know if the styling depends on the task yet.
